About
Free, independent, and honest about it.
AvocadoScore is an independent product. No funding, no investors, no roadmap committee — just an audit that has to be good enough that people actually use it.
Why AvocadoScore exists
Every audit report out there — Lighthouse, PageSpeed, the SEO platforms — hands you a wall of numbers and no direction. You close the tab knowing your site is slow, but not knowing what to fix first. Engineering asks “is this worth a sprint?” and nobody can answer.
AvocadoScore is the report that should have existed on the other end of those conversations. Every finding ranked by effort × impact, written in plain English, in a format an engineer can ship from without a translation meeting.
What this is
AvocadoScore is a free website audit. You paste a URL, we scan up to 10 pages of the site, and we return one report — every fix unlocked, no signup — covering three things:
- Core Web Vitals. Run through Google’s PageSpeed Insights API — the exact same engine Lighthouse uses — with the median of three runs per page so the numbers don’t bounce.
- SEO readiness. A 12-point scorecard for the on-page basics that actually move rankings: meta, schema, canonicals, semantic HTML, internal links, sitemap health.
- AI readiness. 18 checks across three pillars — Access (can the answer-engine crawlers like OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot reach you, and does your CDN block them), Comprehension (
llms.txt, validated structured data, server-rendered content, heading structure), and Trust (author and date provenance). It’s the axis no other audit tool covers.
The whole thing arrives as one ranked fix list. Effort estimates in dev-weeks. Plain English. Forward the URL to engineering and it reads as a ticket queue, not a research project.
Who it’s for
In-house web and SEO leads at SaaS companies who need a defensible “ship this” document for one quarterly engineering window. Solo agencies and freelance SEO consultants scoping client work — run it on every client domain, free. More on agency use is on the page. Founders auditing their own pre-seed site.
Why free, and how we make money
The old model here was a $29 one-time audit. It didn’t sell — people want to check their site before they’re willing to pay anyone, and that’s a completely reasonable thing to want. So the audit is free now: full report, every fix unlocked, no card, no signup. The one thing we charge for is staying on top of a site after the audit — Monitor is $9/mo per domain: a monthly re-scan with an email the moment a score slips. Free stays free either way.
The honest part
AvocadoScore is brand-new. No logos at the bottom of the home page, no testimonials, no “trusted by” strip. The engine is real (Google PageSpeed Insights, the Chrome UX Report, a battery of HTML / header / schema checks — every check is documented on the methodology page). The free tier really is free — there is no card to enter and no fix hidden behind one. And we run the same audit on our own site — you can check our score with the free tool.
If you want to see how a report reads first, the examples section on the home page shows real scans of sites you’ve heard of. Or run the free audit on your own domain — under a minute, no signup, no card.
