AI readiness scorecards

Is your site ready for ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity?

More people now ask an AI assistant instead of Googling — and those answer engines can only recommend a site they can actually crawl, read and cite. Below are public readiness scorecards for well-known sites, scored by the same free engine you can point at your own domain.

What “AI readiness” actually measures

AI answer engines — ChatGPT search, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews — reach a site the same way a search crawler does, but with stricter limits. They usually don’t run JavaScript, they respect (or are blocked by) your robots.txt and CDN, and they lean on structured signals to decide what your page is about and whether to cite it. AI readiness scores whether an automated agent can reach, read and trust your content.

Access — can the crawlers that cite you (OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Claude-User) actually fetch the page, or does robots.txt or a Cloudflare rule quietly block them? Blocking Bingbot alone removes you from ChatGPT search and Copilot, which ride Bing’s index.

Comprehension — once fetched, can they parse it? That means server-rendered content (not an empty JavaScript shell), a clean heading outline, valid structured data, and an llms.txt file — the emerging standard that hands AI agents a clean map of your site.

Trust — can they attribute and date it? Author and Organization schema plus published/modified dates are the provenance signals answer engines increasingly weight before quoting a source.
